Recruiting in NextCrew follows one path: candidates find you, apply, and move stage by stage until they're hired. This page shows the path and the guide for each step.
Summary
Candidates register on your NextCrew page or from a link, fill in the application, and land in HR › Crew Members with the HR Status New. Your recruiters review them, contact them within 24 hours, and move them to the next stage. Dashboards show where candidates stall and which sources bring them in. What goes wrong: new candidates wait for days because nobody owns the list.
How to do it
- Decide how candidates reach you. See How Candidates Find You and Apply.
- Every morning, filter HR › Crew Members on the HR Status New.
- Contact each new candidate within 24 hours. See Review and Contact New Candidates.
- Move each candidate to the next stage on their HR tab.
- Add people who didn't apply online yourself. See Add or Invite Candidates Yourself.
- Once a week, check where candidates stall. See Track Your Recruiting Pipeline.

The stages a candidate moves through
In NextCrew, a candidate is a Crew Member who hasn't been hired yet. Their stage is their HR Status. NextCrew comes with these stages:

| New | They registered and haven't been reviewed yet. | Automatically, when they sign up. |
| Interview | You're talking to them. | By you, on their HR tab. |
| Onboarding | You've sent their onboarding documents. | By you. |
| Docs Signed | They signed their documents. | Automatically, when they sign. |
| Hired | They're ready to work. | By you. |
| Terminated | They no longer work with you. | By you. |
Your list may differ. You can rename the stages or add your own. See Set Up HR Statuses and Referral Sources. NextCrew can also change which stages are set automatically. One agency added an Application stage that is set only when the candidate finishes the application, so recruiters see only candidates with something to review.
