The Order Cloning feature in NextCrew allows you to duplicate an existing order—including all jobs, shifts, and optionally the same staff—to quickly create a new event. This saves time when managing repeat or similar jobs across multiple days, locations, or clients.

Key Benefits

  • Save time by duplicating complex orders with multiple jobs and shifts.

  • Maintain staffing consistency by optionally including the same crew, while preventing double booking.

  • Ensure accuracy as dates and times for jobs automatically adjust when selecting a new start date.

  • Increase efficiency when scheduling recurring or repeat client events.

By the Numbers

  • Up to 70% faster order creation for repeat events.

  • Zero double bookings—system automatically excludes unavailable staff.

  • One-click setup for orders spanning multiple roles and dates.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the Order you’d like to clone from the Orders dashboard.

  2. In the top-right corner, click on the vertical ellipses (⋮) menu.

  3. Select Clone Order.

  4. Choose a new start date.

    • The system automatically adjusts all subsequent jobs, shifts, and times relative to this new date.

  5. Select whether to clone crew:

    • ✅ If enabled, crew members from the original order will be included.

    • ⚠️ If a crew member is unavailable due to another assignment, they will be automatically excluded to avoid double booking.

  6. Click Clone to confirm.

  7. Review the newly created order and make any adjustments if needed (e.g., staff changes or updated positions).

Pro Tip: Use this feature for weekly recurring client needs—this saves significant time compared to recreating orders from scratch.

Example / Use Case Scenario

  • You staffed a 3-day conference with multiple positions: registration staff, AV team, and catering crew.

  • The same client now requests staff for another conference next month.

  • Instead of rebuilding, you simply:

    • Open the previous order.

    • Clone it to the new date.

    • Select staff cloning option—automatically excluding unavailable workers.

  • The order is recreated instantly with minimal changes required.

Pro Tips & Best Practices

  • Always verify crew availability after cloning, especially for recurring weekly shifts.

  • Use cloning for recurring clients, tours, or multi-shift events to streamline scheduling.

  • If staffing changes are likely, clone the jobs without staff and assign roles later.
