When creating a job in NextCrew, you must set the Privacy Option, which determines who can view the job and how it will be distributed. Choosing the correct setting ensures your open shifts and jobs are visible only to the right audience.

Privacy Setting Options

1. Public

  • Visibility: Open to everyone.
  • Distribution: Automatically pushed to the job board.
  • Use Case: Maximize visibility and allow broad applications.

2. My Crew

  • Visibility: Available only to people registered in your system.
  • Additional Control: Visibility is restricted by distance/location settings.
  • Use Case: Standard shifts for your internal workforce.

3. Private

  • Visibility: Invite-only. Hidden unless crew members are specifically invited from the job page.
  • Use Case: Confidential or specialized roles requiring personal selection.

4. Verified

  • Visibility: Seen only by crew members flagged as Verified.
  • Verification Process: Staffing managers manually set this on each profile.
  • Use Case: Jobs requiring credential validation or compliance checks.

5. Inactive

  • Visibility: Not visible to crew. Used for cancelled shifts.
  • System Behavior:
    • Confirmed crew automatically notified of cancellation.
    • Their assignment status changes to Cancelled.
  • Best Practice: Use Inactive instead of deletion for proper recordkeeping.

Default Privacy Configuration

Admins can configure default privacy settings to streamline the job creation process. This saves time and ensures consistency across all jobs.

  • Staffing Manager Defaults: You can set the system to automatically choose a preferred privacy option whenever a staffing manager creates a job (example: default to My Crew).
  • Client Defaults: You may configure a different default privacy setting when a client creates a job (example: default to Private to require manual review before opening).

⚙️ Note: Defaults can always be changed at the time of job creation if a different privacy setting is needed.
