Moving From NextCrew Legacy to NextCrew 2.0: What You Gain

Modified on Thu, 1 Oct at 11:02 AM

You know Legacy inside out, and it works. Moving to NextCrew 2.0 keeps everything you rely on and takes work off your plate. And you can try it without giving anything up.

Summary

NextCrew 2.0 uses the same login and the same data as Legacy. Most records stay in step between the two, so anything you add in one shows in the other. Your Crew keep the same app, and your subscription doesn't change. What you gain: Daily Pulse, saved views, dashboards, CrewPilot, texting and other App Marketplace connections, Channels and a rebuilt client portal. To start, change the end of your web address to .app and sign in as usual. What goes wrong: trying to learn everything on day one. Move one daily task at a time.

How to do it

  1. Go to your usual NextCrew address, ending in .app, such as yourcompany.nextcrew.app. Bookmark it.
  2. Sign in with your usual username and password.
  3. Pick one thing you do every day, such as approving timesheets, and do it in 2.0 for a week.
  4. Keep Legacy open alongside if you like. What you change in one shows in the other.
  5. Use the table below to find where each Legacy screen moved.
  6. Stuck? Ask CrewPilot, or choose Support at the top of any screen.

That's you in, with nothing to lose. Everything below shows what's waiting for you, and where to find the screens you know.

Switch at your own pace

The bar along the top shows the stage. The badge on each step shows who does it. On a phone, swipe sideways to see every step.

What your Crew and clients see

Your Crew keep using the same NextCrew app, so there's nothing for them to change. Send new Crew Welcome to NextCrew: get started in 10 minutes.

Clients sign in to the client portal at the .app address with the same login. Send them Welcome to NextCrew: your quick start as a client.

Questions people ask

Do I lose anything by moving?

No. Everything from Legacy is in 2.0, plus the new features above.

What happens to my data?

It's in both. Most records stay in step, so you can work in either.

Do I need a new password?

No. Use your usual username and password.

What's the new address?

The same as before, ending in .app, such as yourcompany.nextcrew.app.

Do my Crew need to do anything?

No. The Crew app doesn't change.

Does my subscription change?

No.

Can I go back to Legacy?

Yes, as long as Legacy is still supported. Once your move is complete, we recommend using only 2.0, so your whole team works in one place and gets every new feature.
