A job looks like a date, a time and a headcount. Behind it are the settings that decide who hears about it, what they're paid, where they clock in and what they see.
Summary
An order holds the client, the contact, the work and bill locations, and the rate configuration. Each job inside it holds the position, dates and times, privacy, pay and bill rates, location, description and attachments. A few settings have a company default that you can change for one order on its Configuration tab: the job match radius, the geofence radius and early clock-in. What goes wrong: an unverified address, which breaks matching, directions and clock-in.

Order and job, in one picture
Think of a burger place. You order a burger, fries and a soda, and get one receipt. The receipt is the order. Each item on it is a job. They stay together because they were asked for together.
For a staffing agency, the receipt is an event or a client request, and the items are the positions and times. Many agencies invoice by order, so one event means one invoice. See Orders, Jobs and Offers: How They Fit Together.

Company defaults you can change for one order
Some settings have a company-wide default. To use a different value for one order, open the order's Configuration tab and edit Mobile App Settings.
| Setting | What it controls | Change it for one order when |
|---|---|---|
| Job Match Radius (miles) | How far away Crew can be and still be notified, such as 50 miles | You want only nearby people, such as within 10 miles |
| GEO-Fencing Radius (miles) | How close Crew must be to clock in | A large site, such as a stadium, needs a wider or tighter area |
| Allow Early Clock-In (minutes) | How early Crew can clock in | People need to be on site early for a briefing |
Default privacy works a little differently: an admin can set one default for jobs your team creates, and another for jobs clients create, such as Private so you review them first.
Company defaults are set by an admin. See Site Configuration Settings Explained.
Why the address matters most
- Matching: NextCrew uses it to find Crew close enough to the job. A wrong ZIP code means the wrong people hear about it.
- Directions: Crew navigate to it. A wrong address sends them to the wrong place.
- Clock-in: Crew can only clock in inside the geofence. If the address is wrong, they can't clock in, even when they're standing at the right door.
⚠️ Watch out
Always pick the address from the search suggestions, and check the pin. Typed-in and imported addresses aren't verified the same way.
