Overview

The Certification Types code table defines the different types of professional certifications that staff, employees, or providers may hold. Unlike licenses, which are state-mandated and legally required, certifications are usually optional, skill-based, or industry-recognized. Managing this table ensures consistent data entry and easy tracking of certifications across the system.

Area

This table supports Human Resources, Compliance, and Professional Development areas.
It helps organizations document, categorize, and report on staff qualifications that may enhance service delivery or demonstrate specialized skills.

Navigation

You can find and manage Certification Types in the system setup area:

  • Settings→ Lookup Tables → Certification Types

  • From this screen, administrators can add, edit, or retire certification type entries.

Users (such as HR staff) will see these certification types in dropdown menus when entering or updating employee certification details.
